Under the framework of DANIDA - CIEM project on Research Capacity Enhancement. Central Institute for Economic Management hosted a seminar “An Introduction to Computable Equilibrium Modeling: Data and Theory” on July 13 – 14, 2006.

Participants of the seminar included young researchers of CIEM, and representatives from some colleague institutes, such as: Institute for Development Policies, Institute for World Economics and Politics, National Center for Information and Economic Forecasts, etc.

At the seminar, two foreign experienced experts on Modeling, H.E professor Finn Tarp and assistant professor HenningTarp Jensen of Economics School, Copenhagen University, presented basis knowledge on the Social Accounting Matrix (SAM), the standard CGE 1-2-3 Model, and analyses of CGE applications on marketing costs and agricultural technology, trade liberalization and spatial inequality, and other related modeling issues.

Expectedly, participants of the seminar will be further improved their knowledge with a training course in December 2006. Currently, the participants are encouraged to work in groups, studying the Game Theory, as a preparation for the coming training course.
